Garlic Butter Steak Bites & Creamy Mash

Ingredients
For the Steak Bites
1–1.25 lb (450–550g) sirloin, ribeye, or NY strip, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt & pepper
4 tbsp butter
4–5 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional but recommended)
Fresh parsley (optional)
Red pepper flakes (optional)
For the Mashed Potatoes
2 lb (900g) potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet)
4 tbsp butter
½–¾ cup warm milk or cream
Salt
Pepper
1–2 garlic cloves, smashed (optional for the milk)
Instructions
1. Make the Mashed Potatoes
Peel and cube potatoes.
Add to salted boiling water and cook 12–15 min until fork-tender.
Drain, then return to the pot to steam dry 1 minute.
Warm the milk/cream with smashed garlic (optional).
Add butter to potatoes, begin mashing.
Pour in warm milk gradually until creamy.
Season with salt & pepper.
2. Make the Steak Bites
Pat steak cubes very dry (for best browning).
Season generously with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a heavy pan on high until shimmering.
Add steak in a single layer—don’t crowd.
Sear 1–2 min per side until browned; remove to a plate.
Lower heat to medium; add butter & garlic.
Stir 20–30 seconds until fragrant.
Add steak back in, toss in the garlic butter.
Add Worcestershire sauce if you like.
Finish with chopped parsley or red pepper flakes.
Serve
